Productive, fun, and challenging workplace with a variety of animals. Typical day would consist of cleaning and maintaining assigned animal exhibits as well as diet preparation and distribution twice a day. I would also head to our animal hospital and sign up for our Lemur Talk show, Reptile Show, and Alligator feeding show and when the time came for those shows I would perform for the public. Each show is roughly 20 minutes long and very educational. Hardest part of the job is being outside in the elements but such is the life of a zookeeper, and obviously the most enjoyable part is being about to interact with each reptile, bird, and mammal species we have at the park.
Was this review helpful? Easy job. The managers are all very nice and helpful.

Pay could be higher and a few areas need a facelift but the job is easy and the P O S system can be learned in ten minutes. No set scheduling of days and hours as this is a seasonal place and hours change during in and off season. Very good place to work. Worked here for about three years, it was an overall great experience.

Flexible hours and friendly management. A great environment for a first job. Gained a lot of customer service knowledge as well. A typical day at work was very smooth, but also busy. I worked in the gift shop so sometimes it was empty but when the shows with the animals were over people came flooding in. Is the Alligator Adventure worth it?
Or is it cheesy? It's more of a zoological park than a roadside attraction, despite its cheesy name. There are certainly Gators, but also other animals. The environments are nice, there are shows to see, and overall it was educational. We enjoyed it very much, but had received free tickets. I don't know the prices, so I can't answer as to whether or not it would be worth the cost. We are "zoo" and "aquarium" people, so we would also recommend the Ripley's Aquarium. It's expensive, but well worth the visit. Thanks for your input. I was debating between the aquarium and the alligator adventure.
But from what I have read the aquarium is great! This post has been removed at the author's request. The author may post again if desired. It it is a choice between the two, then definitely the Aquarium.

We went to AA last time we visited MB. I liked it, I thought it was fun, maybe a little pricey. They have an alligator feeding show that the kids really liked. All in all, I think it was worth it, but probably not something I would go back to. The aquarium however is awesome, I love it and we go there almost everytime we go to MB.
Plus, this year they have a special dinosaur exhibit, so we will probably make another visit when we come down in August. My family really enjoyed Alligator Adventures.
